Mentor coaching is a structured process in which a more experienced coach observes your recorded coaching sessions and provides feedback measured against the ICF Core Competencies. It is not supervision, consulting, or general mentoring. It is a specific professional development requirement with a defined standard.
The ICF requires a minimum of 10 hours of mentor coaching completed over at least three months. At least 3 of those hours must be delivered one on one. The remaining hours may be completed in a group of no more than 10 participants. This requirement applies to portfolio path candidates pursuing ACC or PCC credentials, and to ACC holders seeking credential renewal.
